COVID-19 Weekend Update: 2/19-2/21

By Sandra Folarin and Jeffrey Softcheck, MBA

As of Saturday, February 27th the positivity rates, deaths, and hospital utilization all look really good. We are nearing 70,000 vaccinations on average per day. The United Center will soon to become a mass vaccination site, ensuring that thousands more will be vaccinated.

If you’re younger with a health condition and in need, Regions 3, 4, and 6 of Illinois have more inventory of vaccination doses currently.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine has been approved and is on the way, marking three vaccination options along with Pfizer and Moderna.

If we can keep the momentum going through March, Spring and Summer will look much better. Continue to stay vigilant, masked, and help each other with vaccine information and sign-ups. With three new vaccines now authorized to fight Covid-19, the first one offered to you is your best shot.
