Saturday, March 6th Data Update:

All regions and major counties continue to show a positivity rate under 4.5% for the past week with the state overall at 2.4%. So we are in great shape overall and maintaining the lower numbers. Yes, the variants are starting to pop up here, so that is something to keep an eye on.

Vaccinations continue to hit new all-time highs every day with over 130,000 each day the past two days. Those are numbers that we like to see.

Wednesday, March 3rd Data Update:

The charts have been updated to show progress since the beginning of the year. You can see the vaccinations continue to rise, with positivity, bed utilization and deaths continuing to fall.

This has been a great week overall with the JNJ news and the United Center mass vaccination site becoming operational with a separate supply chain of vaccines for that site, expected to do over 6,000 vaccinations per day.

I added a graph to show the ratio of vaccine inventory to the number of people in the region that still have not received a first dose. Lower numbers are better for this graph. You can see that while there are still a lot of people in Region 8 that need to be vaccinated from a numbers perspective, the ratio of people that need to receive a first dose to the current inventory is lower than other areas. That being said, some areas have chosen not to expand to 1B+ yet, though community partners such as Walgreens, Jewel, Marianos, and CVS seem to have varying operational protocols in place for that population.

At the bottom of this page you can see by County who has the inventory (health dept. vs. community partners) and how many have been vaccinated.

The inventory is expected to grow drastically with the JNJ vaccine availability this month. Looking forward to stellar numbers on all fronts by the end of March.
